Overview
The Main Guard House & Clock Tower is a magnificent, historic landmark standing at the heart of the Garrison Historic Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built around 1804, this beautifully preserved Georgian-style building features a striking red brick clock tower and an elegant, columned front veranda that looks over the expansive Savannah racecourse. It originally served as the headquarters for the British military command on the island and remains a powerful symbol of Barbados' rich military heritage, hosting the popular and traditional Changing of the Guard ceremony.
