Overview
Carlisle Bay is the broad, sheltered bay beside Bridgetown that contains several popular beach sections, including Brownes Beach and Pebbles Beach. It is known for swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving, watersports and a collection of historic shipwrecks offshore.
Sea conditions change. Follow lifeguard, flag and local guidance before swimming or snorkeling.

Carlisle Bay covers several shoreline sections, including Brownes and Pebbles beaches. The NCC lists vehicular public accesses at Browne’s Beach, Pebbles Beach and Bay Street Esplanade; use the access appropriate to your destination.
Toilets, showers and parking are listed by the NCC at Brownes and Pebbles. These facilities do not extend along the whole bay; confirm what is open and any charges with the relevant operator.
No single operating timetable applies to the bay. Rentals, staffed facilities and boat excursions have their own schedules.
Follow local warnings, beach flags and lifeguard instructions; do not swim under a red flag. Confirm that a lifeguard is actually on duty before relying on coverage.
Use qualified operators for offshore activities. Keep clear of boats and do not enter or touch shipwreck structures.
