Temporary closure notice, checked 1 October 2026: The Sandpiper lists an annual refurbishment and staff-holiday closure from 3 August through 16 October 2026. Confirm availability directly before planning a visit. The Sandpiper is a family-run beachfront hotel near Holetown on Barbados’ west coast. Garden rooms and one- and two-bedroom suites sit among tropical gardens, with additional oceanfront, Beach House and Tree Top suite categories. The restaurant offers Caribbean-influenced dining, while Harold’s provides a more casual beachfront bar and dining setting. Facilities include two pools, a gym, floodlit tennis courts and non-motorised watersports for resident guests. Spa treatments take place at the separate sister property, Coral Reef Club, with complimentary guest transfers. Children are welcome, subject to the hotel’s room, evening-dining and lap-pool age rules. Check the selected accommodation, meal plan and booking conditions before reserving.

Families: Children are welcome year-round. Under-16s cannot occupy a room alone, except interconnecting rooms. Under-5s are not permitted in the restaurant or lounge after 7:00 pm. Under-12s cannot use the unsupervised lap pool from 9:00 am–1:00 pm; the other pool remains available.
Meals and booking: The FAQ says rates include breakfast, with a breakfast-and-dinner option. Half board requires three consecutive nights and is unavailable 25–31 December 2026. Confirm the locally payable nightly room levy, its currency and total, along with the chosen rate’s deposit, seasonal minimum stay and cancellation terms.
Accessibility: The hotel reports wheelchair access to ground-floor accommodation, pools, bar and restaurant. Suitable ground-floor rooms have bathroom grab bars and must be reserved directly, subject to availability. Public bathrooms do not have disability adaptations; discuss your exact room and route requirements.
Animal policy: The hotel’s published policy excludes pets, including service or support animals. Discuss any animal-assistance requirement directly with reservations before booking.
Activities when operating: Resident guests can use non-motorised watersports without charge; motorised activities have separate charges. Complimentary tennis coaching is advertised 4:00–6:00 pm except Sundays. Ask about weather, availability and current schedules.
Family services: Babysitting has a three-hour minimum; confirm price and availability. Baby equipment is limited and available on request. The listed 2027 programme for ages 2–12 runs 15 May–14 August and includes scheduled short sailing trips and swimming lessons; book arrangements directly.
Dining when operating: The restaurant requires long trousers for gentlemen after 7:00 pm; tailored shorts are allowed in the cocktail lounge. Harold’s has no formal dress code. Tell reservations about dietary requirements and confirm restaurant availability during your stay.
Spa: The Spa is at Coral Reef Club, a separate sister hotel. Complimentary transfers are offered to spa guests; treatments should be arranged and priced separately. Contact the hotel for current arrangements.
